What the Triumph NTC-AS Adapter Kit Is
The Triumph NTC-AS Motorcycle & ATV Adapter Kit is an accessory designed to expand the wheel clamping capabilities of compatible Triumph tire changers. Rather than functioning as a standalone machine, the adapters mount directly over the tire changer's existing wheel clamp jaws and are secured with screw bolts to keep them firmly in position during operation.
By extending and repositioning the existing clamps, the NTC-AS allows the tire changer to accommodate motorcycle and ATV wheels that may fall outside the machine's standard clamping range. The adapters also raise the clamping point above the turntable, providing additional clearance for narrower motorcycle and ATV wheel assemblies. The tire changer's original turntable, jaws, and operating controls remain in use with the adapters installed.
How the NTC-AS Changes the Clamping Range
The NTC-AS can modify the tire changer's clamping range in two directions depending on how the adapters are configured.
When positioned to increase the clamping range, the adapters add approximately 4 inches to the machine's original clamping range. When configured to decrease the clamping range, they reduce the machine's original range by approximately 8 inches.
Because these measurements are based on the tire changer's existing specifications, the final clamping range will vary by machine. Start with the published clamping range of your compatible Triumph tire changer and apply the appropriate increase or decrease.
The adapters also raise the wheel's position above the turntable, providing additional clearance when servicing narrow motorcycle and ATV wheels. Plastic wheel clamp covers can also be used with the NTC-AS adapters.
Compatibility with Triumph Tire Changers
The NTC-AS Adapter Kit is designed and guaranteed for compatible Triumph tire changers only. Proper fitment depends on the specific shape, dimensions, and mounting configuration of the machine's wheel clamp jaws.
Compatibility with tire changers from other manufacturers is not guaranteed. Before operation, each adapter should be properly seated over the existing jaw and securely fastened with its screw bolt to prevent movement during tire mounting or demounting.
Bead Blast System Limitation
The tire changer's bead blast system cannot be used while the NTC-AS adapters are installed. The adapters cover the air openings used by the bead blast system, preventing the system from operating as intended.
When servicing motorcycle or ATV wheels with the NTC-AS installed, tire inflation must therefore be performed without bead blast assistance. To restore bead blast functionality for other tire applications, the adapters must first be removed from the wheel clamp jaws.
Because each adapter is secured using a screw bolt, switching between standard operation and the motorcycle/ATV configuration requires manually installing or removing the adapters from each jaw.
