Shop alignment racks and alignment lifts built for tire shops, dealerships, fleet garages and full-service repair shops. An alignment lift raises the vehicle on drive-on runways with front turnplates and rear slip plates, so wheels can turn and settle freely while you measure and adjust camber, caster and toe at a comfortable working height. We carry 4-post alignment lifts and scissor alignment lifts from 11,000 to 24,000 lb capacity from Atlas, AMGO, Katool, Daytona and iDEAL.
Compare open-front, extended-length and ALI certified models, and packages that include rolling jacks for wheels-free work. Alignment Racks for Tire and Service Shops
An alignment rack, also called an alignment lift, is a drive-on lift built specifically for wheel alignments. It has long, level runways, front turnplates (turntables) that let the steering wheels turn freely, and rear slip plates that let the suspension settle while the technician adjusts the vehicle. Car Lift Direct carries 4-post and scissor alignment lifts from Atlas, AMGO, Katool, Daytona and iDEAL, from 11,000 lb models for cars and light trucks up to 24,000 lb racks for heavy trucks and fleet vehicles.
How to Choose the Right Alignment Rack
- 4-post vs. scissor alignment lift: 4-post alignment lifts are the most common and most affordable choice, and they double as a general service lift. Scissor alignment lifts have a low profile and no posts, keeping the bay open and making it easy to walk around the vehicle.
- Lifting capacity: 11,000–14,000 lb racks handle most cars, SUVs and light trucks. Choose 16,000–24,000 lb for heavy-duty trucks, vans and fleet vehicles.
- Runway length and front design: Extended-length runways fit long-wheelbase trucks and vans. Open-front designs like the Atlas Platinum PVL14OF-EXT give easier access for low cars and alignment equipment.
- Rolling jacks and wheels-free work: A rolling jack lifts the wheels off the runways for tire, brake and suspension work during an alignment. Many of our alignment lifts are sold as packages with rolling jacks included, and models like the Atlas 12AWFSL have wheels-free lifts built in.
- Alignment equipment: The rack holds the vehicle level. The measuring comes from an alignment machine. See our wheel alignment machines, including 3D imaging aligners from iDEAL and Katool.

Alignment Rack FAQs
How much does an alignment rack cost?
Alignment lifts on our site currently range from about $4,000 to $23,700. 4-post alignment lifts run from about $4,000 to $19,900, and scissor alignment lifts from about $11,500 to $23,700. What is the difference between an alignment rack and a regular lift?
An alignment rack has front turnplates, rear slip plates and runways built to stay level across the full lifting range, which is required for accurate alignment readings. A standard lift doesn't have these features, so it can't be used for precision wheel alignments.
Is an alignment lift the same as an alignment rack?
Yes. "Alignment lift" and "alignment rack" describe the same equipment: a drive-on lift with turnplates and slip plates built for wheel alignments.
Should I buy a 4-post or scissor alignment lift?
Choose a 4-post alignment lift for the lowest cost and the most versatility, since it also works as a general service lift. Choose a scissor alignment lift if you want a low-profile, post-free bay with easy access all the way around the vehicle.
What types of alignment racks are there?
The main types are 4-post drive-on alignment lifts, scissor alignment lifts and in-ground or flush-mount systems. We carry 4-post and scissor alignment lifts. Our 4-post racks install on your existing floor, and some scissor alignment lifts, like the Atlas 12ASL and 12AWFSL, can be surface- or flush-mounted.
Do I need an alignment machine too?
Yes. The alignment rack positions the vehicle, and an alignment machine measures the angles. See our wheel alignment machines to complete your setup.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer financing through Approve, and you can split eligible purchases into payments with Shop Pay at checkout.
