Heavy-Duty 2-Post Truck Lifts
A heavy duty 2 post lift is built for vehicles that are too heavy or too long for a standard 9,000–10,000 lb lift. Higher capacities, taller columns and longer arms let a 12,000 lb 2 post car lift or larger handle diesel pickups, dually trucks, cargo vans and fleet vehicles while still leaving the wheels free for brake, suspension and drivetrain work. Car Lift Direct carries 2-post lifts from 12,000 to 20,000 lb.
How to Choose a Heavy-Duty 2-Post Lift
- 12,000–13,000 lb: The most popular range for shops and serious garages working on 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks. Options include the Atlas PV12PX, AMGO OH-12, Katool KT-M120, Tuxedo TP12KC-D, Titan HD2P-12KMSC, Daytona LTPA12 and Triumph NTO-13A.
- 14,000–16,000 lb: For heavier trucks and vans, like the Katool KT-M140XD and KT-M150D, Atlas PV15PX, AMGO OH-15, Tuxedo TP15KCX, Daytona LTPO15 and Triumph NTO-16 and NT-16.
- 18,000–20,000 lb: The AMGO OH-18 and Triumph NTO-20S are built for the heaviest trucks and fleet work.
- Clear floor or baseplate: Most heavy-duty lifts are clear-floor models with an overhead beam. If your ceiling is lower, baseplate options include the Atlas BP12000X, Katool KT-H120D, Tuxedo TP12KFX, Titan HD2P-12000F, Daytona LTPF12 and Triumph NT-16. See all low-ceiling 2-post lifts.
- ALI certification: The Atlas Platinum PVL12 and PVL15 and the iDEAL TP12KSC-DX are ALI certified, which many commercial shops and insurers look for.
- Ceiling height: Heavy-duty clear-floor lifts are tall. Many need a 13–14 ft or higher ceiling, so check the overall height on each product page.

Heavy-Duty 2-Post Lift FAQs
How much does a heavy-duty 2 post lift cost?
Heavy-duty 2-post lifts on our site currently range from about $2,600 to $12,800. 12,000–13,000 lb lifts run about $2,600–$7,800, 14,000–16,000 lb lifts about $3,700–$12,800, and 18,000–20,000 lb lifts about $7,700–$9,400. What size 2-post lift do I need for a truck?
Choose a lift rated well above your heaviest vehicle's weight. A 12,000 lb lift handles most 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups and vans. Loaded work trucks and duallies often call for 14,000–16,000 lb, and the heaviest trucks need an 18,000–20,000 lb lift. Also check arm reach and column spacing for long-wheelbase vehicles.
Is a 12,000 lb 2 post lift enough for a diesel truck?
For most 3/4-ton and 1-ton diesel pickups, yes, as long as the vehicle's actual weight is under the lift's rated capacity. Many shops choose 14,000 lb or more for crew-cab duallies and loaded work trucks to leave extra margin.
What ceiling height does a heavy-duty 2-post lift need?
Heavy-duty clear-floor lifts have tall columns and an overhead beam, so many need a ceiling of 13–14 ft or more. Baseplate heavy-duty lifts are shorter. Compare the overall height on each product page with your ceiling.
Do heavy-duty 2-post lifts need special concrete or power?
Higher-capacity lifts usually need thicker or stronger concrete than a 10,000 lb lift, and most run on 220V. Check the installation manual and power requirements on each product page before you order.
